Our
Story
Ottawa Reduces was started in 2019 by 5 women who met because of their shared concern for the plastic crisis. A CBC news article about Roncy Reduces inspired us to start a similar initiative here in Ottawa. Our aim is to help individual and small businesses reduce waste together, especially single-use plastics. We primarily canvass businesses to make a pledge toward waste reduction, but also do workshops to raise awareness about plastic pollution and its effects on human health and planetary health.
