Our
Story

Parkdale Reduces Initiative is an emerging organisation that was created by Sujata Kafle as part of the
Youth Climate Leadership Program for Youth Challenge International (YCI). Sujata Kafle is an environmental project management student and is determined to have a positive impact on the environment. With the support from Roncy Reduces (Tina Soldovieri), Christopher Winter (MECP), Parkdale businesses and volunteer Ko Hosaya, this project had a successful start in January 2022.

The main motive for creating this organization is to reduce single-use plastic pollution by convincing business owners to allow customers to bring their own bags and containers. With the growing issues of climate change and single-use plastic pollution, we are committed to make the earth a better place for generations to come.

Please email us if you would like to volunteer for Parkdale Reduces or if you know of or own a restaurant or coffee shop that welcomes BYO!
