Our
Story
Roncy Reduces started in January 2019 and we meet on a monthly basis in one of our members homes or in the park (during the pandemic on zoom, of course). We have 20 neighbours on our group list, 9 of them are active, many (but not all) are Roncesvalles moms. By the end of 2019 we had over 70 BYO stickers placed on the storefronts of Roncesvalles businesses.
We have organized a sold-out film & speaker event at the Revue Cinema (The Green Bin Project), school workshops, a school poster and film contest, a neighbourhood downsize-your-bin challenge, shoreline and street cleanups, and have tabled at the Sorauren Farmers’ Market, Roncesvalles United Church Flea and Holiday Markets, Roncy Rocks, Parkdale Seedy Saturday and more. Since 2020 we have partnered with Roncy Pickup Dinner for the monthly takeout dinner to be offered in deposit & return containers.
